Causes Of Swelling In Right Arm
Hi, I am experiencing pain, redness, and significant swelling in the lymph node located above my elbow on the inside of my right arm. Possible causes?
Injury or infection: Lymph nodes usually swell in response to an injury or infection. A lymph node in the area you describe would most likely be due to an injury or infection in your forearm or hand. Swollen lymph node (s) are usually a sign that the body is taking care of itself and not reason for concern. In very rare cases, a swollen node may be a sign of a more serious condition. If it persists, get it checked outSee 1 more doctor answer
Swelling is the enlargement of organs, skin, or other body parts. It is caused by a buildup of fluid in the tissues. The extra fluid can lead to a rapid increase in weight over a short period of time (days to weeks). Swelling can occur all over the body (generalized) or only in one part ...Read more
My left upper arm has been slightly swollen for nearly two months. I saw a doctor when it started who gave me no cause. Now the right arm is swelling.
Follow up appt: Bilateral swollen arms is a symptom that needs to be investigated. There can be be a blockage in either the venous system or lymph system causing these symptoms. You will need some diagnostic testing, such as ultrasound, to make that determination. Insist on proper investigation.
My wife is suffering from RA and the same is under control. No joint pain but on medition. Muscle pain and mild swelling in right arm. Reason?
Probably unrelated: If the disease is well controlled, it is likely to be unrelated. You did not mentioned what meds your wife is taking so I cannot comment on that area.
Possible lymphnode: We need details like how long it is there, painful or not, skincovering is free or attached to the underlying lump, any blackhead like area -likely a skin cyst - sebacious cyst, to r/o cancer sitting in lymphnodes- irrespective female/male breast cancers (commonest) and distant cancers like lung, thyroid, blood related cancers like lymphoma, leukemia, acute infections like breast abscess, chronic inf.
See a doctor: Examination will help understand if the 'swelling' is from a mass of from fluids. Without more details of when this started and how it changes with time etc., as well as details of history and family information, my answer is limited.
Need to be checked: Painfull swelling is often caused by an infectious process. In your arm pit/ axilla it could be a benign (non cancerous) lesion like lymphnodes, cysts of the skin, fatty tumors and developing abscess from an infection. It also could be a cancerous lesion. If this is not resolving within a few days you must have your doctor check this out.
I had a venipuncture on my right arm on 3/11/16. My inner elbow still hurts and it hurts when I extend and flex my arm. There is also a bit of swelling?
Seems unlikely.: Intermittent swelling is not characteristic of DVT since a clot would cause continuous swelling. Also upper extremity DVT is not as common as lower extremity DVT and usually is associated with an inciting event such as trauma, tumor, an IV or thoracic outlet syndrome. It would be very unlikely for your symptoms to be due to dvt. See a vein specialist for an exam.See 2 more doctor answers
That sounds bad...: Waking up with severe swelling in one limb sounds bad. A doctor or the E.R. Can check to see if the blood circulation to the limb is blocked. A call to 911 can get one a ride to the E.R. If no personal doctor is available.
I have some swelling and redness on the inside of my bicep area of my right arm just above the elbow.
Celluitis: Could be a few things including an infection-cellulitis, a clot superficial or deep, a muscle problem. Will have to let your doctor take a look at it.
My right shoulder is not even with my left shoulder. I have pain, numbness, and swelling down my right arm. At times it's cold, what could be going on?
Evaluated: Get it evaluated. Number of things could cause this.
I have pain in upper right arm. Can feel pain when I extend arm. Should I be worried? No bruising, no swelling just achy. Help!
Extensor Tendinitis.: More likely that you have a tendonitis of the muscles that extend your wrist. If it hurts to lift a carton of milk and the discomfort is just above the elbow on the outside of your arm then it is likely to be a tendonitis. Don't use your wrist with the palm down, rest the muscle and give it time. This can take months to get better.
Hi my nan has a large swelling on the top of her right arm it's hard and sore but she's refusing to see her gp should I be worried?
Will the GP: Make a house call? Talk to her doctor about this situation.
Get seen: Pain and swelling from armpit to elbow could be infection, injury, or more serious. Have this checked by you doctor.
Right arm vein hurts by my wrist. Dr. Says it might be gout but even with meds the pain is still there and so is the swelling. What could it be?
So here's the: Thing, if gout is the presumptive diagnosis a simple tap of the region (tap means doctor taking a sample with needle) would confirm that diagnosis. In the event, it's not gout, an abcess, or infection presents Similiarly, and that should be considered, a clot could develop in a vein, less common in wrist but very painful when it occurs.See 2 more doctor answers
I had a venipuncture on 3/11/16 on my right arm. I have some forearm pain around the area and elbow and some swelling and tightness. Is this normal?
Pain: This is clearly not normal, often after venipuncture can be some localized ecchymotic changes, but this is more than 2 months ago. I would recommend that you be evaluated by a vascular surgeon to determine the underlying problemSee 1 more doctor answer
