Swollen neck: It sounds like you're in the middle of a medical assessment of this. The normal thyroid ultrasound pretty much excludes a goiter, and typically this exam would also see, and describe, lymph nodes or other abnormal structures substantial enough cause noticeable swelling. What kind of "neuro symptoms"? I would talk with the Dr. who ordered US. See if there are any clues in that report. Neurologist? ...Read more

See ENT doctor: It is unclear how long you have had this, where is it located and how large it is. It could be an enlarged lymph node, a thyroid nodule or goiter, a thyroglossal duct cyst, or other mass. The treatments will all be different, thus it is important to find out the cause. It is unlikely: It is unlikely for a thyroid nodule to cause pain and swelling. Pain/swelling in the midline front of the neck may represent thyroiditis, inflamed thyroid gland, or superinfected thyroglossal cyst. However, if you feel any lumps that are getting larger, or have been in your neck for longer than 2 weeks, see your doctor right away, as this can represent infected or possibly cancerous lymph nodes! ...Read more
