Some folks are more prone to them than other and they often appear on the neck, shoulders, and back. Try to avoid skin products that are oily. It pains only when I touch, near lateral head triceps brachii. Is it fibromyalgia? Can this be the cause for the referred shoulder pain?
Local myalgia: Muscle co-contraction (i.e., muscle splinting) is a reflex protective response that is mediated through the cns. It results in muscle tightening (i.e., guarding) to protect the injured part. Usually there is no pain until the injured part is moved. To be included in the diagnosis of fm, the pain should be located in at least three out of four quadrants of the body or along the entire spine. ...Read more

My right arm keeps twitching between my bicep and tricep. What is the likely cause and treatment?
Fasciculation: Most of the time a muscle "twitch" (or fasciculation) is totally normal. However, it can be a sign of nerve disease (lower motor neuron disease). If there was a nerve disease, I would also expect to have some evidence of sensory or strength loss on exam (and in the patient's list of complaints). Additionally I would expect reflexes to be reduced or absent. Without these, it is probably normal. ...Read more

Can ulnar nerve pain cause bicep and tricep pain? Also have pain on both sides of elbow/wrist. Carpal tunnel was released on same arm 4 months ago.
May not be ulnar: The ulnar nerve can cause pain through out its distribution in your arm, but your pain does not fit only ulnar pain. Carpal tunnel syndrome is related to your median nerve. To have both median nerve and ulnar nerve issues, you most likely have an issue upstream of those nerves not specifically with the median or ulnar, either brachial plexus issue or cervical radiculopathy.
