Many things: Infection, cyst, benign tumor, bruise/bleed; most lumps are not cancer, but masses that are cancer in general continue to grow with time. If you are over 40, I would recommend you should be having annual mammography, regardless of whether you have an infraclavicular mass. Pay attention to this mass, and you should try to see your physician regarding this. ...Read more

Not likely, but: A cancer of the clavicle bone would be highly unlikely. However, there are lymph nodes located just behind the mid point of the clavicle that might be enlarged and mistaken for the bone itself. Enlargement here would be significant. If this painless lump has been present for years without change likely insignificant. If it's just been noticed more recently, or getting larger, have it examined . ...Read more

Hard to say: Hard to say. The clavicle articulates with the sternum medially. Sometimes the sternoclvicular joint can beome quite enlarged, often from an injury or an arthritic condition. No worry, lymph node: The lymph nodes only above 1.5- 2 cm radius which are hard, entangled, fixed to the underlying structure or tender is considered as significant. If the lymph node further increase in size and becomes painful over the few weeks please see your PCP for examination. ...Read more

How deep?: How deep in the lump? If it feels like it is more on the surface, you should see a dermatologist.
