Several causes: What you're describing could be caused by several things. With symptoms like yours we need to see the area, feel the area, and do an appropriate examination. Best to see your doctor for appropriate examination and possible imaging and possible testing. Sorry this was not more helpful. Best of luck

Had Mirena (levonorgestrel) coil for 5 years now, pain after sex, egg shaped lump under belly button after sex too what could cause this???

Get checked: If your Mirena (levonorgestrel) has been in for 5 years then it is time for it to be removed and replaced. You can have a pelvic exam to evaluate your painful intercourse. Intercourse should not causes any changes in your belly button. Ask your doctor to evaluate you for a possible umbilical hernia

You should: Have that "mass" checked out by the surgeon who did your procedure!! ASAP!!! Sounds like you have a HEMATOMA (Collection of blood) due to the procedure. (A known complication!) Hope this help and BE WELL Dr Z

Hi I have a small lump around my bellybutton. I've read that it could be a hernia.

Yes: A lump by the belly button can be an umbilical hernia. See your doctor for an examination. A small umbilical hernia with no symptoms can be observed. Growing or uncomfortable umbilical hernias can be repaired with a minor surgery.

I'm experiencing pain inside and around my bellybutton. It appears to be red and maybe have a lump on the inside. Any ideas?

Infected bellybutton: Debris and hair can get trapped deep in a bellybutton to cause an infection or abscess. The other possibility is an umbilical hernia. See your pcp for treatment.

I have a hard pea sized lump that can only be felt by putting my finger in my bellybutton. It's painful and it just started yesterday. Any idea?

Nodules: It may be a little infected cyst. I would apply moist heat snd this should cause it to come to a head and discharge. If it persists I would see a doctor

I have a small hard lump on the wall of my bellybutton after a cholecystectomy. Its hard and hurts when moving but no pain when sitting, what is it?

Depends: If your laparoscopic cholecystectomy was recent, it may just be normal scarring. It may also be an incisional hernia. Regardless, make an appointment to see your surgeon. He/She can examine you and make some recommendations.

I had keyhole appendectomy 3 weeks ago, the bellybutton scar is a bit puckered & there's a hard lump under the scar at right end. Will this lump go away?

Most likely...: After a surgical procedure there is always healing tissue forming and it may be swollen and hard at one point. It usually resolves after a few weeks. However in some cases hard tissue may remain and stays there permanently. If the surgery is very recent it is hard to tell how it will finally heal. If very concerning make sure you f/u with your surgeon.

I had lap surgery for gallbladder removal. 5 mo. PO. I still have minor bellybutton pain on occasion. Is this normal. No lumps or bumps.

Umbilical pain.: 5 months post laparoscopic cholecystectomy. You should not have umbilical pain. You might have an umbilical hernia. Have your surgeon look at it.
