Can the depression caused by acute sodium deficiency be recovered ..because the problem has caused depression and memory loss to my father ..

It depends.: If the main cause for memory loss is due to to acute sodium deficiency, he will recover when the sodium is replaced . It is rarely just one reason that memory is impaired. His doctor must find out what caused the sodium deficiency and correct the root cause. He should also try to find out whether there are medical problems that can contribute . How much time does it take to recover from hyponatremia (sodium deficiency)?

How much time does it take to recover from hyponatremia (sodium deficiency)?

Water excess: Hi. Hyponatremia is virtually ALWAYS due to water excess, NOT sodium deficiency. For instance, if pneumonia or infection of pleura are treated then the fluid will resolve and sodium too. Taking more sodium/salt by mouth is the wrong approach. By definition no: Unless there is a lab error (and these panels are prone to problems), hyponatremia is simply not present if the blood sodium is normal. Some people try to second-guess based on their symptoms; this is understandable but is a mistake. Look for some other cause instead. ...Read more

31 weeks pregnant. Severe arm muscles pain amd stiffness. Dr says sodium deficiency. What should I eat, as in diet, to cure this and ease pain?

Other possibilities: I am skeptical that sodium is the problem. Calcium (e.g. Milk and dairy products) and potassium (e.g. Oj, bananas, raisins) might be helpful. Try different sleeping positions to relieve pressure on your arms and shoulders and also try to stretch out the muscles involved. Meanwhile keep your prenatal appointments! ...Read more
