I'm having a rapid ringworm spreading on my body, now it is on the top of my genital area and I would like to know the cause and if it should be itchi?
Trichophyton is one of the common types of fungus that can infect the skin, called a "dermatophyte". It can cause ringworm of the skin (such as athlete's foot or jock itch) or of the scalp. I have been getting boils since I was 10years old mostly around the genital area and my inner thighs. What. Could be the cause of this. I am 32 now.
Boils: These are often recurrences of Staphylococcal skin eruptions and may be due to colonization with subsequent breaks in the skin allowing entry of the organisms. Suggest seeing a dermatologist and having these examined and cultured the next time you have an outbreak. May be possible to clear this up. Good luck.
See your doctor: This is a problem that necessitates a face-to-face meeting with your doctor. This will allow him/her to examine you, ask specific questions. And possibly order tests to find out what's wrong and what to do to help you.See 1 more doctor answer
I am a dark skin person female and the skin around my genital area is white. What is the cause of that and how can I fix it.?
White spot: See your dermatologist for an appropriate diagnosis. Vitiligo is a condition where there is loss of melanocytes and the skin gets very white. Often it starts around body orifices. Your doctor can look at your skin with a woods light and see if there are lighter spots developing anywhere else. Treatment depends on what the diagnosis is.See 1 more doctor answer

Can cold sores be spread to the genital area? Is it possible for someone with cold sores to cause genital herpes in another person?
Yes,: Yes, it is possible. Cold sores or fever blisters are caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (hsv-1) and are extremely common. Most people become infected as an infant or small child when kissed or by sharing eating utensils with an adult who has the virus. 20% of the cases of genital herpes are also caused by hsv-1 thought to be infections from oral-genital contact. The virus is most contagious when someone has a cold sore, but can still be passed along by someone who does not. Many people do not even know that they are infected because the virus can "hide out" in the nerve cells for very long periods of time - for some people it hides out forever and they never get a cold sore. For others, the virus can "wake up" at any time and that's when a cold sore happens. No one knows exactly what causes a cold sore to appear - sometimes stress, illness, fevers, colds, sunlight, cold weather, menstruation, certain foods, allergies, you name it! They usually last 7-10 days and are more of an annoyance than a danger unless you have a weakened immune system or contract a bacterial infection on top of the cold sore. Depends: Could be neuropathy from diabetes, problem at 3rd sacral spinal root, a pelvic mass (benign or malignant), or other things. You "treat" this problem by identifying the cause and if possible removing it. Some causes can be "treated, " others (e.g. Diabetic pudendal neuropathy) can't. At your age, you need to be examined. What does your doctor say?
Have had a persistent vibration/fluttering in lower right side genital area. Any cause for concern?
Not likely: Any chance you keep your phone near there? (front R pocket?). People now report 'phantom vibration' that would be like their phone on buzz...even when not wearing/carrying a phone. It is not likely a problem. If other symptoms start, then may want to ask your Dr.
Yes: It is possible.Get a more detailed answer ›

Is there anything besides herpes that can cause open sores in genital area? Could a severe UTI cause them?
Why do I have white discharge from my genital area its without odur & its white/yellow discharge? I'm on Duphaston only. Could this cause it? Thanks.
Get tested: Vaginal discharge requires an examination to determine the cause and treatment. Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause and often has a vaginal odor. Vaginal itching can be a sign of a yeast infection. Sometimes vaginal discharge can be a sign of a sexual transmitted infection. Testing is important to determine the treatment and keep you and your partner safe.
I read that baby powder with talc, can cause ovarian cancer. I used it about 20 times in my life in the genital area, about 10 years ago. What is my risk?
I doubt it: I have been following this stuff since the 1970's and I think it's junk science. Epidemiology by its nature generates an enormous amount of garbage. The claim does't make sense biologically and I am sorry it is turning out to be a money-maker for tort law. Don't worry and use cornstarch from now on.
