Causes Of Right Clavicle Pain
Any # of things: Differential would include painful/arthritic AC joint (joint at end of clavicle), rotator cuff tear or intractable tendinitis, labral tearing (cartilage surrounding socket which helps stabilize joint), altered mechanics or abnormal motion of the scapula (shoulder blade) on chest wall. The base of my neck where the sternocliedomastoid connects to clavicle area hurts to the touch. What could be the cause?
Muscle pain: The most likely cause is a muscle strain. The sternocleidomastoid functions in neck rotation, so a strain can result from overuse of the neck muscles or abnormal neck positioning. Another cause could be infection of the overlying skin and or muscle itself. This would be associated with redness and warmth in the area. Treat initially with ice, anti-inflammatories, rest. What can cause shoulder pain in front of the clavicle on the left side when sitting having back support? And no pain when standing or laying
Unclear: I'll say that "in front of the clavicle" close to the breastbone is the sternoclavicular joint. The pectoralis major muscle attaches to the "front" of the clavicle, but i've never seen a strain of that muscle hurt in that location. Other small ligaments and muscles attach to the clavicle, but i just can't imagine anything that causes pain only when sitting. ...Read more

I am not sure what is meant by clavicle hook but any operation or trauma has risk of bleeding. See a doctor or go to an urgent care for further evaluation. ...Read more
Not sure?: Not sure what you mean by head of clavicle. The clavicle and 1st rib are right on top of each other near the breast bone or sternum. The medial sterno-clavicular joint can become swollen from injury or inflammation. Some people have an extra cervical rib above the clavicle which if large can cause some pain. The other end of the clavicle by the shoulder hurt, but is not rib related. ...Read more
What could cause a bone to constantly change? My clavicle keeps changing shape. Some parts, the bone is eaten away, and others, the bone grows.
Don't know: Definitely not a "normal" complaint and should be thoroughly evaluated. There are some inflammatory conditions that can cause a resorption of bone and other parts of the bone can grow in response to it. An osteolysis of the lateral clavicle is also not uncommonly seen in weight lifters. Don't hesitate to be sen and fully evaluated. ...Read more
