Sore throat: It could be especially if there is alot of pus but it is much more likely to be from another bacteria. My dentist told me that stopping smoking has caused soreness & redness in the palate of my mouth. Has been there for 1 month plus now is this common?
Hmmmmmm.: I'm not sure if i personally would agree with that observation. Smoking can and will cause changes to the soft tissues of your mouth, including the palate. I would think that over time, the tissues will revert back to their natural healthy state, unless there has been some irreversible damage. Not usually: Post-nasal drips do not affect the tonsils. With the cluster of symptoms , you need to rule out the presence of sinusitis. Absent that, acid reflux may affect the lingual tonsil (that one which sits behind your tongue and not usually visible) and occasionally the oropharyngeal tonsils if the reflux reaches as high as your mouth.
