I'm 25 and I have a throat 'lump' on the right side where my tonsil used to be. Not painful, but I can feel it when I swallow. What could it be?
ENT Consult: I suggest that you see an ear nose and throat specialist for a thorough evaluation. Without being an expert in the field and not being able to clinically examine you in person, no one can give you an accurate answer.
I have lumps under tonsils that go to back of throat and cause discomfort when I swallow. Also, tonsils are enlarged for the last 5 months, what are the causes?
Lymph tissue: Hello. The lymph tissue located around the tonsillar tissue becomes inflamed and painful with infection. Sometimes tonsillar tissue holds food particles which traps bacteria beneath. This can cause "micro abscesses" leading to the inflammation. Gargle with water after meals and use pain medications if needed. See your doctor for confirmation. Good luck.

This past month my mother has had intermittent tonsil cheese spots and a constantfeeling of a lump in her throat. Causes? Are they related? Been to ent
Tonsilolith, GERD: The condition you described is likely a tonsilolith- which is mixed of food particle, debris and bacteria. Oral hygiene is very important. A constant feeling of lump on her throat likely is caused by acid reflux. Other condition like anxiety also can cause this feeling. I assume no mass was seen in the throat as she was seen by ent. Both may be connected. Try otc omeprazole. Ultimately, f/u w/ md.

Tired, mild body aches and a mild sore throat. Oval, pea-sized red lump in my right tonsil. Slightly bloody and has some white. Slightly painful when touched. I do get tonsil stones regularly. Should I have it checked now or watch it for a few days?
Tonsil lesion: This could be an inflamed piece of tonsil tissue or lymphatic tissue (lymphoid hyperplasia). It also could be an inflamed stone. Give it a few days, then get it checked if persists.
Tooth infection: Often abcesses of the maxillary teeth demonstrate sweeling in the palate. It is most common in the back area of the mouth. Clogged mucous and salivary glands can also form bumps. Bruises and viral vesicles are also posible explanations. Cancer can also cause lumps on the palate though much less frequent than the prior reasons.
Lump: You may have a mucocoel which is a cyst filled with mucin which may be formed from possible trauma to a salivary gland. Consult your dentist or oral surgeon for help.
See your gyn: It sounds like you might have a bartholin's gland cyst/abscess. See your gyn for eval and treatment, which may require drainage and antibiotics.
Torus Palantini: Hello, the lump you are describing sounds like a torus palantini these are benign bony growths that commonly occur on the hard palate. See your dentist or doctor for confirmation but most torus are best left alone.See 2 more doctor answers
Lots of things: Therefore, you need to be seen by your own dentist who can determine the cause of that hard painful lump and then suggest appropriate treatment if necessary. Merely giving you a list of possibilities is not helpful in any way.
No, Suspicious Lump: I would advise you to have the lump examined by any dentist or dental specialist (e.g. oral surgeon, OFP), to help you with a diagnosis and treatment, if needed.
