Lump on neck: We typically don't worry about various lumps & bumps unless they cause pain or pressure or keep growing. These may be due to cysts & glands getting clogged up. Or they may represent an abscess or pocket of pus. Of note, Adam's apple becomes more prominent in adolescent boys as voice changes. Don't panic: There are a lot of benign thyroid growths that are totally benign, but still cause symptoms. Even if this winds up as a type of cancer, thyroid cancers are generally curable and easily treated. Can it be something bad? Yes- but not likely. Perhaps: Lipomas are usually firm and lumpy, something like a jellybean under the skin, would not call squishy. so I'm not sure what it is. Safest thing is to have a doctor look at it, but low risk of anything serious. You could also just watch it and make sure it doesn't change or enlarge, and see the doctor if anything changes.
