What can cause pain behind right ear that radiates down neck into arm? Pain increases with inhaling and stops when holding breath. No cold symptoms.

Radiculopathy: Pain that radiates down the arm can reflect a cervical radiculopathy (shooting pains due to a pinched nerve in the cervical spine). I'm not sure what to make of the association with breathing, although conceivably a pancoast tumor (a tumor a the top of the lungs) could cause the constellation of symptoms you describe. A tumor would be very rare, but see your physician if symptoms persist.

Does the shooting pain from a heart issue/attack come from behind the left ear and down the neck into the left arm? I'm experiencing that.21and active

Not really but: The most common path for cardiac pain such as from a heart attack is either straight chest heaviness or pressure in the sternal region or a radiating pain from the chest to the left shoulder and down the arm. I've not heard the detour to the ear & neck although anything is possible. I'm concerned you have asthma as well so if this picture is new to you you should be seen for further workup.

Can a trapped nerve in shoulder or neck cause pain behind the ear and in face?

Yes it could.: The nerves which give sensation to the back of the scalp come from the upper three nerve roots of your neck area. If one of these are "trapped" it could cause pain. There are a number of other causes to consider if you're having pain in that area. You should consult your physician for a full examination/evaluation.

What causes ear pain that travels down the neck area?

This is called. ..: Referred pain. The pain centers in the throat and ear and TMJ are close enough that disease in one area can produce pain in the others. Ear pain does not usually refer to the throat however, it usually the other way. Some one with tonsillitis or a cancer in the throat will often complain of ear pain.
