Thus it is not difficult to imagine that swollen lymph glands can indeed occur. Maxillary Torus: Sounds like a Torus Palatinus, or maxillary torus. Can hurt when it gets scraped or cut. Often happens with hard bread, chips, pretzels, etc. Takes a while to heal. Similar to those in your lower jaw. Good Luck. ...Read more

Muscle: Not sure where you are pressing - outside --> in, on top of gums, ??. If outside, it may be a sore / spasmed muscle. There is a sling of muscle (MTM) which wraps around this area. Possibly you have aggravated it. If so, see your Dentist to evaluate the cause. Clenching and grinding are the primary causes, and an occlusal guard can be very helpful. Good Luck. ...Read more

Regarding prevention, discuss your history with the dentist and/or assistant before additional radiographs are taken. Unlikely to be Cance: Cancer in the throat in a 27 year old is highly unlikely.So i would not worry about this problem. To figure out the cause of your throat pain, consider common things first, like a virus infection is a commmon cause of sore throat. Typically it lasts about 7-10 days and goes away on its own.
