I have a medium to small lump right above the left side of my ankle on my left leg. It is not painful at all. Any ideas of what it is?
I have a medium: It could be a cyst which is filled with fluid and can happen after an injury or almost jello type tissue if you have had it for a while or a lipoma, that consists of fatty tissue , both cause no problems. What you describe: may be what we call a "dysaesthesia". This is a sensation we perceive that doesn't have any obvious cause. Pain from an injury is NOT a dysaesthesia b/c there's an obvious cause. Can U Be specific ?: Where in the leg is the lump? Leg is between the knee and ankle joints. It could be anything, arising from skin, fat, muscle or the bone. If its near a joint then it could be from joint tissues. New lump? Get seen!: It is hard to say what this could be by the limited description possible in the short questions allowed here.
