Causes of high lymphs count and low rbc?

Causes of high lymphs count and low rbc?

It may be normal: Depending on the age, it may be normal. Children up to about 6 year old have a high lymphocyte count and a low rbc compared to adults normal range. If it is about your own blood count, a high lymphocyte in the CBC is abnormal. Many infections would increase lymphocyte count temporarily, and may reduce rbc count. But there are some serious illnesses that may cause the same thing. See your doctor. ...Read more

If low hemoglobin effects the high count of lymphocytes?

Dr. Liawaty Ho Dr. Ho
1 doctor agreed:

Not really: Anemia does not cause elevation of lymphocytes...However the anemia and lymphocytosis may be related as those two may be caused by a particular blood disorder. For instance in a case of chronic lymphocytic leuekemia. When this chronic leukemia becomes more progressive and the cancer burden is becoming higher , anemia can happen.Mhowever, in majority other cases those 2 are not related. D/w md. ...Read more

What is the indication of a low lymphocytes, low monocytes, low ferritin, high eosinophils, and high mch?

What is the indication of a low lymphocytes, low monocytes, low ferritin, high eosinophils, and high mch?

Iron deficiency: You most likely have iron deficiency. Percentages of lymphocytes, monocytes and eosinophils may not be pertinent. It is the absolute numbers of these cells that is important. The low ferritin likely represents iron deficiency. As a 39 year old woman, menstrual blood loss and perhaps recent pregnancies may be the cause, but you should see your doctor to determine why you might be iron deficient. ...Read more

You are mixed up!: Your platelet count is perfectly normal(Normal level ranges from 150,000 to 300,000. WBC count should be under 10,000...so your WBC count is a bit high. Infection: Elevated WBC count is usually a response to an infection. The elevated monocytes may mean that you have a chronic infection or an autoimmune condition. What does a high RDW count 15.9, high WBC count 11.3, high neutrophil count 73.0, low lymphocyte count 20.3 mean or possibly indicate?

What does a high RDW count 15.9, high WBC count 11.3, high neutrophil count 73.0, low lymphocyte count 20.3 mean or possibly indicate?

Nothing by itself: I've had my RDW that high just from frequent blood donations. Your absolute neutrophil count is probably high -- did you have a recent infection? A recent cold shower? As a lab specialist, i'm always reminding folks that the numbers by themselves mean nothing except in the context of the history and physical exam. If you feel well and the white cells aren't described as abnormal, don't worry. ...Read more

Can hemochromatosis cause low WBC and low neutrophil?

Can hemochromatosis cause low WBC and low neutrophil?

HFE and Leucopenia: It is very rare for leucopenia to be caused by primary hemochromatosis. In fact, in one study ( see http://www.Ehealthme.Com/cs/haemochromatosis/leukopenia) only 2.5 % of patients had it. Of these, most had an associated hematopoietic condition or a drug reaction. I would ask your hematologist to investigate the latter two possibilities. ...Read more

What causes low lymphocytes and MCV , high neutrophile percentage fluctuating low platelet count for one year ? No bacteria or viral infection detect.

What causes low lymphocytes and MCV , high neutrophile percentage fluctuating low platelet count for one year ? No bacteria or viral infection detect.

White blood cells: are comprised mostly of neutrophils and lymphocytes. If the number of lymphocytes are low then percentage of neutrophils will naturally be high, even though there numbers are normal. Viral infections (HIV and others) are a common cause of low lymphocyte counts. From a practical standpoint, it may not be necessary to test for the other types of infection if the counts are not dangerously low. ...Read more
