A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

I usually have heavy blood flow during menstruation, however for this past two days, my blood flow is very light. Is it something to worry about?
Could be: A menstrual period that happens on time but is much lighter than usual could be an implantation bleed rather than a period. If you have been having unprotected sex, you need to do a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days if it is negative. There certainly are other things that can cause a period to be lighter but most will also cause it to be irregular. Hope this helps. Read more

I'm wondering why are the levels of oestrogen and progesterone low in the blood during menstruation?
Wow nice question: Long explanation but a brief version. Your menses is an indication that pregnancy did not occur and that your body is now eliminating the lining of your uterus and preparing for a new cycle. It is the decline in estrogen and Progesterone that tells your uterus it is time to shed the lining. The brain starts to stimulate the ovaries in a renewed attempt at getting you pregnant. See image. Normal: Your situation doesn't seem to be outside of normal. If you have had this pattern since you started your menstrual history, it may be normal for you. If that's the case, than that's ok as well. Read more
