Unfortunately no: Lewy body is like alzheimers with progressive loss of cognitive function. It however has more psychiatric symptoms early on including: depression, paranoia and hallucinations. Few options: There are currently no fda-approved treatments specific for lewy body dementia (dlb). But given the severe cholinergic losses that occur in dlb, the frequent co-occurrence of alzheimer's disease pathology, and several small trials that suggest their effectiveness, cholinesterase inhibitors are the off-label treatment of choice. Exelon (rivastigmine) patch has shown some effectiveness for the cognitive decline. ...Read more

Worry never helps: That said, there is great interest in the relationships. It's often the best early sign of the diseases. So, do talk w/ your Dr and pursue early treatment. That's been the best way to delay and arrest progress and minimize symptoms. Worry is costly and can make symptoms worse.
