Spasms and weakness: This could be related to thyroid and/or electrolyte levels (sodium, magnesium, potassium, etc.) but usually this is global not specifically in one arm or leg. You should first be evaluated by a medical professional as this could be a symptom of a nerve root being compressed from a disc, seizure or stroke which could be very serious. No stroke.: Probably no need to worry about a stroke. The signs are unilateral weakness not bilateral. If the cramping and or weakness persists or worsens please seek physician consult to rule out other medical problems.
