Causes Of Ig G Deficiency
Could an unknown virus (that causes IgG deficiency) be passed from father to son, & thereby present as a genetic IgG deficiency& in reality be viral?
I was diagnosed by allergist with IGA & IGG deficiency due to recurrent infections. Had 2 miscarriages within 3 yrs. Can this be cause of miscarriage?
Unlikely: Not a direct cause,? infection leads to miscarriage, may be, but even individuals without your condition miscarry for no known reason.IgA deficiency is the most common primary immunodeficiency amongst the already rare immunodeficiency disorders, many afflicted persons are asymptomatic and lead normal lives, follow up with your immunologist/allergist for possible IVIG replacement therapy, good luck ...Read more
I recently miscarried at 7 weeks. Diagnosed with IGA and possibly IGG deficiency . Also have bicornuate uterus. Can IGG and IGA def. cause miscarriage?
Clarification: See your doctor to go over the test results to get clarification. It is unclear here if your doctor was testing IgG and IgA as part of an antiphospholipid antibody workup for miscarriage or if you are referring to the genetic disorder of the immune system referred to as IgA deficiency. The impact on pregnancy depends on the diagnosis. ...Read more

Therefore, best to be evaluated by your internist to check how well these conditions are “optimized” and whether you are a good candidate to proceed with elective surgery. It is very likely that your plastic surgeon will ask for this medical clearance. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

If u have Vitamin D deficiency, does this have any effect on immunoglobulin levels (IgG, IgM...etc.)? Would low Vitamin D cause lower IgG or IgM?
Many causes: If your IgM and IgA levels are normal or high, it's likely you have one of the still-not-fully-understood genetic glitches that come under the heading of "common variable immunodeficiency" which is very common. If your IgG is just a wee bit below the published "normal", consider ignoring it, but if one or more classes is way low, you deserve an official diagnosis. ...Read more
