Causes Of Hyposmia
Hyposmia after septoplasty and middle turbinate reducation I had a combined septoplasty and middle turbinate (concha bullosa) resection on 29th Feb. Immediately after the operation (1 day) I couldn't smell anything. My sense of smell returned after about
Most : Most changes in smell following intranasal surgery are self-limiting and related to swelling of the nasal mucosa which can impair odorant contact with the olfactory nerves. The middle turbinate attaches to the cribriform plate, through which the olfactory fibers pass. The "crista" may be a misdictation in the or report as the only one i'm aware of is the crista galli, which is an intracranial boney projection above the cribriform plate to which the falx cerebri attaches. It seems improbable this was fractured. As long as you are not experiencing clear fluid drainage from the nose, having unexplained headaches, fever, or neck stiffness, there is probably not much reason for concern here. A trial of topical nasal steroids (i.e., flonase) woulnd't be an unreasonable initial approach. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm 18. I think i might be developing parkinsons? My right leg sometimes trembles, cramps and feels weak. Hot flashes. Losing sense of smell; hyposmia
What would cause my 17 year old to have a bad sense of smell? She has no allergies but is frequently stuffed up. It is getting worse over the years.

Often this is something simple like allergies, however, there can be rare other causes that should be looked for. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Two thoughts: The possibilities here are numerous, but at least two that come to mind are 1) childhood developmental factors, and 2) anger as covering over other feelings. For the first one, if children aren't taught to deal with anger early on, they'll have trouble with it later. For the second one, anger can sometimes be an internal defense against other, more troubling feelings that are harder to express. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Reintroducing grains after paleo, and i feel sick. Is my body freaking out from "foreign objects" or did grain-free cause grain intolerance?
This is the norm: Grains are really hard on a person's gut but for most of us our gut gets used to it. However, when you stop eating grains for a time and then add them back you are asking your gut to adjust too quickly to eating grains. Your experience is the norm rather than the exception. Were you to keep eating grains things would eventually improve though they will never feel as good as not eating them. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Guilt and Shame: A certain amount of guilt means we have a conscious, when it is excessive we have developed a punitive attitude toward ourselves that is excessive and unwarranted. This is learned behavior and any learned behavior can be unlearned. Shame is often the result of being humiliated too early in life and then you can be easily shamed and embarrassed for just being human. Best. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
