No: These are different disorder. Both are serious, far more serious than run if the mill food poisoning.
Unlikely: Colonoscopy is a tool to look at the inside of the colon for polyps, cancers, ulcerations, inflammation or other disorders. Colonoscopy uses a flexible telescope with a fiber optic light source. Colitis is inflammation of the colon, it would be hard to link how a colonoscopy would cause colitis.
Probably yes.: This is a lot of laxatives, way way beyond recommended dose. Laxatives act by irritation. It is not recommended for prolonged use. Laxative abuse, both acute and chronic, can lead to serious problems.
Colitis: Maybe recurrence of symptoms or incomplete treatment of flare up or ineffective treatment.
Giardia: If colitis refers to diarrhea, it may be due to different factors. Persistent giardia, antibiotic associated colitis caused by the antibiotic used for treatment, unmasking of underlying inflammatory bowel disease(uncommon) such as ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease. Consult your doctor to work this up!

A serious disease: "colitis" usually refers either to ulcerative colitis or crohn's colitis - inflammatory diseases of the colon. No 'cause' is known. Young people are often affected. Both are serious and require care from a physician who treats these diseases often.. They may be mild or very severe with bleeding, diarrhea and pain. Medicines are effective, .But surgery is required in advance cases. Peter wilk, md.
I have been diagnosed with Microscopic Colitis since 2008. I ate corn a week ago. Can it wait until today to cause a problem? Does it accumulate in me
No: When you eat something it is digested and does not accumulate. I am unsure what problem you are concerned about.
Not yet known: The exact cause of ulcerative colitis is not yet known. Certain foods and psychological stress can worsen ulcerative colitis but don't cause it. One possible cause is a problem in one's immune system. When one's immune system tries to fight off a virus or bacterial infection, an abnormal immune reaction can cause the immune system to attack the cells in one's own intestines.
It Depends: Clinically, Focal Active Colitis depends on your endoscopic and clinical presentation/symptoms. It can be benign as a result of the prep you were given for your colonoscopy to something more serious due to infectious colitis or inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis/Crohn's Disease) with symptoms of bloody diarrhea, mucous, etc. See your treating physician for more info on your case.See 1 more doctor answer
It can.: The radiation treats any tissue that tends to reproduce and grow rapidly. This actually describes the lining of the intestine as well as cancer. When the lining of the colon is affected, it falls off and allows the bacteria a chance to get to work on the layers underneath. This leads to inflation (itis) thus colon itis or more properly - colitis.
C difficile : The C. difficile bacteria tends to overgrow in certain instances, such as when one gets antibiotics that select out for the bacteria. Other risks include being in environments in which the bacteria is prevalent (like nursing homes or hospitals). The toxin made by the bacteria results in the formation of pseudomembranes in the colon.See 1 more doctor answer
Low flow: This can result when the flow of blood and nutrients to the intestines is less than what is needed. This can occur when the intestines have higher than usual needs as with infections often associated with diarhea. This can also occur when the flow is low from an arterial blockage or from dehydration or low blood pressure. Initial treatment is bowel rest, if severe surgery may be needed.See 1 more doctor answer
