Causes Of Excruciating Hip Pain
Hip bursitis: It is likely that you have a condition called trochanteric bursitis of your hip--it is inflammation of the area surrounding the curve of the hip-thigh bone. Possibly resulted from excessive use/walking/running and/or laying on the side on a firm/hard surface too long. Hip arthritis and disc disease can cause hip pain as well. Motrin/aleve may help. If not better, consult doc for eval. Good luck.See 3 more doctor answers
Many causes: One of the most common causes of hip pain. Is osteoarthritis. Oa is usually seen in middle and old age, I do not know your age. Other causes include impingement syndromes, bursitis, muscle issues, snapping hip, trauma, transient osteoporosis, osteonecrosis or avn, and the list goes on. I recommend that you see your pcp or an orthoedic surgeon. Www. Aaos. Org/findanortho/.
Many things: Here is the list - osteoarthritis, gout, strain, labral tear, inguinal hernia, sports hernia, avascular necrosis, bone contusion, tendonitis/bursitis, pinched nerve in lower back, etc. As you can see, the list is pretty long. Remember, common things are common, so things like arthritis, strains/sprains and tendonitis tend to top the list. Lastly, see your physician if the pain persists.See 1 more doctor answer
