Causes Of Calcified Cyst
Calcified cyst: Are you referring to breast cysts with calcified walls? I'm not exactly sure, maybe some inflammatory reaction of the cyst wall. What I do know is that calcified cysts are a radiologist's best friend on mammography...easy to see, and 100% benign. ...Read more

Kidney abnormalities: "Calcific densities" in the kidneys usually represent calcifications or stones, depending on any other associated findings they may have mentioned. Sometimes kidney tumorsay calcify, but they would have mentioned any finding concerning for this. Seems excessive: But may be justified based upon data not in your story. The problem is you have a picture of calcifications and a cyst. You do not yet have a diagnosis. There are other less invasive ways to get a diagnosis which might be good alternatives. ...Read more

What is atherosclerotic vascular calcification? I have a cyst behind my left knee that is 2c by 2c by 5c.
Atherosclerosis : Atherosclerosis is buildup of cholesterol and fatty plaque in the blood vessel. However, it is not necessarily related to a patient's weight and can occur even in very thin individuals. This buildup can get calcium deposited in it as well, which makes it stiff, hence the term "hardening of the arteries". The cyst behind your knee sounds like it may be a separate issue, called a "baker's cyst". We get these cysts behind our knees for no apparent reason. They swell and sometimes can rupture. They often however cause no problem. They are usually identified on an ultrasound study. If you had worsening pain, redness, leg pain, or new symptoms then it would need to be immediately evaluated. ...Read more

I have uti's on a regular basis, I have type 2 diabetes and gave had a kidney scan which shows a cyst in one and calcification and scars on the other.
UTI prophylaxis: Recurrent utis documented by culture should be eradicated and you should discuss UTI prophylaxis, or use of a small dose of an antibiotic on a daily basis to suppress any infection. The scars concern me since any urinary tract obstruction and infection can lead to loss of kidney function. It would be highly unlikely that a simple cyst would be infected. I recommend a good talk with your doctor. ...Read more
