A burning sensation can be descriptive of nerve pain, some variations of migraine, and even central brain problems after a stroke. Have heard this said associated with phantom limb syndrome, reflex sympatheric dystrophy, and trigeminal neuralgia. Other patients might say ...Read more
Can use of Monistat topically in men, on the head of the penis, cause burning sensation/skin sensitivity and urethral irritation?
Yes you can it: Is only the same medicine as in some antifungal creams that you would put on your skin. However, if the Monistat does not work then you need to get to a healthcare provider to get checked for infection like from a STD. It is unusual for men to get yeast infections. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
NotalgiaParesthetica: What you describe sounds like "notalgia paresthetica". It is usually caused by irritation of nerve roots as they exit the spine. The most common problem is poor posture and slouching. I recommend postural exercises and muscle strengthening to my patients with this problem. It does work. To be certain of what you are experiencing, I would see a dermatologist or your pcp first.See 1 more doctor answer
Stress: Causes different symptoms to different people so the skin sensation may be your response so I really cant say your symptom is common for you it is
Can a severely narrowed bilateral neural foramina cause skin burning sensation in feet & legs? MRI says there is this narrowing.
Possible: Depends on level of narrowing - would have to involve multiple levels to cause this. Important thing is to rule out other medical conditions that can be potentially more serious like untreated diabetes, vascular disease, low vitamin levels, kidney/liver disease, medication side effects etc. Doctor can rule these out and then if left with diagnosis of narrow foramina that may need neurosurgery eval
Atypical symptom: Burning in such a large area of your body is atypical. I am not sure of the cause but if it is central nervous system related it has to be coming from right side of the brain possibly thalamus. This however extremely rare and very unlikely. Most likely there is some other non nervous system related explanation.See 1 more doctor answer
Could fibromyalgia cause pain in the upper shoulders &very hot burning sensation that goes along the back of my head. Ifeel shoulders painful &hot also?
Possibly: If the pain is generalized and there are areas of soft tissue tenderness, then it is likely fibromyalgia. Localized pain just to the neck and shoulder areas is unlikely to be fibromyalgia.
Many causes: Allergy to soap/shampoo reaction to hair colouring product hair products stress anxiety migraine side effect of medication occipital neuralgia sinus whiplash injury vitamin b 12 deficiency spinal nerve compression diabetes peripheral artery disease peripheral neuropathy sun burn chemical burn heat burn peripheral nerve trauma (see nerve symptoms) peripheral nerve compressions.
Idiosyncratic: Burning head sensation is not a commonly reported side effect associated with metformin. A few percent of patients experience headaches but not burning head sensation. Discuss this with your doctor.
What causes hot burning sensation in the whole back till the back of head. Could fibromiyalji be the cause or is there any other. What I do for relief?
Paresthesia: Paresthesia refers to a burning or prickling sensation that is usually felt in the hands, arms, legs, or feet, but can also occur in other parts of the body. The sensation, which happens without warning, is usually painless and described as tingling or numbness, skin crawling, or itching. Chronic paresthesia is often a symptom of an underlying neurological disease or traumatic nerve damage.
My neck hurts daily. I also get a burning sensation all over skin along with hypersensitivity, feverish feeling on skin. What could cause this?
Not likely: A folliculitis is an inflammation of the follicles usually associated with superficial bacterial infection. Burning of the glans is likely due to another cause - maybe medicine you have been applying to your groin? Burning with urination is a different story and could be related to urinary tract infection or an std.
What can be some benign and mild causes of my skin on my thumb feels a burning sensation when I press down on it. Stress related?
Is it normal for antifungal cream to cause a burning sensation? It's at the back passage area and don't want too damage the skin further?
Its a reaction: That reaction can be found in some antifungal creams such as nystatin. In my experience the burning lasts only a short time and does no harm to the skin. Its best to go to the pharmacy and take the antifungal with you and ask for a different one. When you apply put a very small amount on your skin and note the reaction.
What causes upper back pain and very burning sensation that stretches along shoulders and back of my head? Could it be fibromyalgia? Could not bear hot
Probably not: Fibromyalgia affects both right and left sides of the body, above and below the waist. There are several things that might cause your symptoms-e.g.-trigger points (painful bands inside the muscle), facet joint arthritis of the lower neck or upper back (especially if you were in an accident with a whiplash injury), disc tears, and subluxation of the joints between the rib and vertebrae.
