Possible PUD?: There are a lot of possibilities, but your description of burning stomach pain raises the probability of gastritis ; ulcers. Stop any non-prescribed nsaid's (aspiriin, advil, aleve, (naproxen) motrin, etc.) ; start an otc acid reducer (like Prilosec otc, Prevacid 24hr). Intercostal neuralgi: Sounds from the information you give that you may have what is commonly called a "pinched nerve) in your dorsal (back) vertebrae. May have been caused by coughing really hard. I would first try a liquid antacid 2 tablespoons (30ml); either maalox or mylanta.
