Depends: This really depends on your neurological exam and pain. If there are any neurological deficits or significant pain then you need to be imaged. Otherwise, if its just some pain and you don't have any altered sensation/weakness or any other problems besides a bruise and some pain more than likely you are completely fine. Unrelated to tap: spinal tap 1 year ago can cause a bruise now. If bruise was not caused by a known injury then it may be an underlying blood disease that needs to be investigated by a hematologist. some times steroids or Aspirin or anti platelet medications can do so. ...Read more
