My toe nail has been bruised for nearly 3 months. What else could cause a bruised appearance?

My toe nail has been bruised for nearly 3 months. What else could cause a bruised appearance?

Black toe nail: The only serious problem you could have, that gives a black toe nail, would be a malignant melanoma on the nail bed beneath the nail. A bruised nail turns red, and then dark, and then resolves after a period of time, as the nail grows out. It may take more than 3 months for a bruised big toe nail to grow out, so it may pay to be patient and wait, or visit a dermatologist right away for help. ...Read more

Can you get a stone bruise on the corner of your big toe? How can I treat it cause it hurts real really really bad! :(

Can you get a stone bruise on the corner of your big toe? How can I treat it cause it hurts real really really bad! :(

Might be easy to fix: Hard to tell from your description, but this could be a "subungual hematoma, " or a collection of blood under a fingernail or toenail after you've bashed it. Usually it's just a drop of blood, but it can really hurt! a doctor or nurse could show you how to drain the blood and relieve the pain (but not all nurses know how). Of course, you should be sure you didn't fracture the toe. ...Read more

Mysterious bruising on feet my husband has bruising on his feet-the bottom heel and alongside the big toe and on some of his toes but did nothing to bruise them. What can cause this?

Chances : Chances are this has nothing to do with the feet, but more a problem with blood clotting. It may be showing up in the feet because feet take more of a daily pounding than the rest of us. Can shoes cause lumps on feet? Have a painful and slightly bruised lump under my big toe but haven't hurt it.

Can shoes cause lumps on feet? Have a painful and slightly bruised lump under my big toe but haven't hurt it.

You (s)choose: I look at it this way. The slightly bruised lump was caused by: 1. Pressure on your toe with absolutely no involvement with the shoe. 2. Pressure on your toe caused by the toe and the shoe. 3. Pressure on the toe caused only by the shoe, having nothing to do with the toe's activity. I'm betting on number 2. ...Read more
