Bruise Or Contusion (Definition)
Bruises, or ecchymoses, are discolorations and tenderness of the skin or mucous membranes due to the leakage of blood from an injured blood vessel into the surrounding tissues. A serious disease called pupura presents as a cluster of small bruises called petachia. Petachia often appears as many tiny red dots clustered together, and could indicate a problem. ...Read more
Bleeding disorder?: I would like to get a thorough history: has this been happening for many years or is it recent? The most common cause is taking an anticoagulant, like aspirin, or vitamin e, garlic, Ibuprofen etc. Would also probably get a platelet count. Usually it's nothing major, but it should get checked out. ...Read more

Accident caused severe bruising of the eye/fractured nose. 7 weeks ago, still slight dark line under the eye. Seek medical attention or just patience?
Probably patience: If everything is healing, and they eye is working normally, then allow the healing to continue. Blood pools in soft tissue after trauma and can take quite a while to completely resolve. Give it another 2 weeks unless you are having trouble with your vision, breathing, or sinuses. Take care! ...Read more

The right side of my nose is very tender like if it was black and blue but isn't. This started yesterday and caused a headache. I do take an over-the-counter nasal decongestant because my nose always feels stuffed up if i don't. Yesterday morning i woke
