Causes Of Bruise On Front Of Neck
Neck Pain: According to the U.S. National library of medicine and the national institutes of health, or nih, neck pain can arise from issues with the neck muscles, nerves, ligaments, vertebrae and spinal discs. Neck pain can emerge in any part of the neck, including the front of the neck. Front neck pain can be caused by certain medical conditions, throat infections and traumatic injury.
Bruise Or Contusion (Definition)
Bruises, or ecchymoses, are discolorations and tenderness of the skin or mucous membranes due to the leakage of blood from an injured blood vessel into the surrounding tissues. A serious disease called pupura presents as a cluster of small bruises called petachia. Petachia often appears as many tiny red dots clustered together, and could indicate a problem. ...Read more
What can cause pain in front of neck under jaw. Lymph nodes not englarged. Pain comes and goes for months, sometimes dull sometimes sharp?
See an ENT Doctor: You obviously need to be seen and examined. Don't wait until the severity of illness forces you to do this, go while it is not an emergency and get managed. Best.
What can cause golf ball sized swelling right side under chin when eating? Also have random swelling on lower front of neck.
Salivary gland: Sounds like salivary gland with obstructed duct. See ENT doc for assessment/treatment.
TMD dx. Ear pain, sore muscle down front of neck, popping jaw. Can this cause lower jaw pain next to molars under tongue? Cold fluid causes ear pain?
Pain and dysfunction: If the tmj/tmd issues last for awhile, some symptoms can affect the ear (s) in many ways. You may develop ringing in the ears; earaches, popping-grating-clicking that is heard constantly in the ears; roaring muffled sounds; hearing loss; on and on. It is better to see an ENT first if you have ear symptoms to rule out it being the ears as the source of the problem.See 2 more doctor answers
Hard to tell..: Sadly with this little information you are probably not going to get much of a satisfying answer. Usually when there is abnormal bruising it is all over your body, rather in one specific spot, so this is less likely to be part of an overall illness. Usually when there is a single unexpected bruise in 1 area you accidentally hit it or fell a sleep with an ill fitting shirt collar
Neck lump: Swelling prominent in anterior part of the neck, such as enlarged thyroid gland.
Pain may be sign: Of infection in the jaw somewhere. Most common reason of course is dental in origin, but could also be muscular in nature (from jaw dysfunction/tmj) or may be neoplasm. You need to be checked by an oral surgeon. He will likely need to see some x-rays.
Spondylosis: Yes it can; neck pain and radiating symptoms to the chest or clavicle (collar)bone can happen, depending on the level in the neck that has degeneration.... Go see a doctor if you are worried about pain at night/sweats, or other general symptoms, and imaging studies, perhaps including an MRI can be helpful to find the cause. Good luck!
You: You could have had a small torn blood vessel under the skin. If you are taking blood thinners and have recurrent bruising, then you should be evaluated. If you continue to get bruises for no reason that you can recall, then you should get blood testing.
Will my enlarged gland in front of neck kill me if it stays big no pain or symptoms also will massaging them hurt it and help the swelling?
See ENT doctor: It is unclear how long you have had this, where is it located and how large it is. It could be an enlarged lymph node, a thyroid nodule or goiter, a thyroglossal duct cyst, or other mass. The treatments will all be different, thus it is important to find out the cause. An ear-nose-throat specialist or otolargyngologist, would be someone that could help make this diagnosis and treat it.
Many things: Could be taut muscle band or muscle spasm called a tender point or a trigger point. This could also be a tender lymph node, especially if you were recently sick. If it is bothering you and does not resolve, see your doctor for further evaluation.
Sounds like your ill: What I mean is that typically when it hurts to touch the skin area, it usually is a possible inflammation or infection. Could be viral or bacterial. If you develop a fever, I would see your doctor to discuss treatment options. It is possible if this is not the case you could have a pulled muscle or nerve impingement.
Consult with: A psychiatrist. This is the type of doctor that deals with these types of urges.
My right neck muscle in the front of neck is bigger than my left. I am right handed. Should I be worried?
My 3 year old lifted up her foot and kicked me in front of neck. No pain just feels weird. Should I worry?
Weird feeling: As long as the weird feeling is not I can't swallow or it's difficult to breath, you are fine to just watch and wait. Soft tissue injuries that cause some swelling under the skin can cause that weird sensation. Don't worry unless associated problems.
Pressure in right front of neck 6 months. Tongue sometimes feels strange on that side Gets worse with strenuous activity. No lumps felt anywhere????
Probably muscular: This well may be muscular discomfort but I recommend that you have an otolaryngologist examine your neck and advise you if any imaging studies are indicated.
Options.: I would start with your primary care provider. He or she will determine if you need otolaryngology or internal medicine specialist referral.
