A foreign body?: Many times when there is an unexpectedly tender spot under the skin something very tiny (tip of thorn or splinter of some sort) has found its way in there. Biting what??: It is quite common to get circular bruising marks from suction with a object like a bottle top or cup, etc. but it would be difficult for a 2 year old to cause bruising on their face by biting them selves. Hurt, not iron: If you hit your hand hard enough to cause bleeding inside, the blood will follow gravity and so will the bruise. Fingers may swell also. Not related to iron levels. Elevate your hand, wrap it with ace and wrap fingers with Coban if needed. Don't use ice or NSAID's. Apply cream or jell with Arnica in it.
