Causes Of Bruise On Bicep
Causes of persistent reddish purplish color below the cuticle on left pinky and fingertip next to it, gout like joint pain on right side of body?
Don't suspect gout : Doubt gout it would be unusual at your age and even Hippocrates noted that women don't usually get gout until after menopause. Your physician can evaluate you and have you see a rheumatologist. Arthritis in those joints at your age could suggest something like inflammatory arthritis related to psoriasis, but there are other possible causes also. Bruises, or ecchymoses, are discolorations and tenderness of the skin or mucous membranes due to the leakage of blood from an injured blood vessel into the surrounding tissues. See a neurologist: Unilateral "chill" (goose) bumps in the context of a tbi may mean nothing at all but could be a sign of autonomic nervous system dysfunction, including reflex sympathetic dystrophy (crps) rarely even an autonomic seizure. Other associations can be related to spinal cord injury (cervical injury is common with head trauma) a neurologist should be able to sort this out. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Bruising without any apparent injury. One on buttock very tender and bluish green one on back of forearm reddish brown. What causes this.
Some trauma?: Bruises are from blood leaking out of capillaries (tiny blood vessels) in the skin. Having bruises means there was trauma to the area. If there was no trauma, the bruises mean either the blood vessels are abnormally fragile and break easily, there are too few platelets to help blood clot, or the blood is "thin" and not clotting fast enough. A doctor's evaluation may be needed to figure things out. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Purpura: Assuming you didn't have an injury that would have caused this unusual pattern of bruising, you may have a condition known as Henoch Schonlein Purpura (HSP), an inflammation of the blood vessels. We don't know what triggers HSP and don't have a specific treatment for it. It usually goes away on its own without ill effects, but, to be safe, you should see a doctor. Best wishes. ...Read more
What are pin-head red dots under skin of my forearm & back of hand & lower leg after taking antihistamine? Only occurs on 1 side of body at a time.
Unusual: Antihistamines are an effective treatment for the red raised bumps that occur as part of an allergic reaction. A red rash after taking an antihistamine might represent an allergy to the medication or a reaction to one of the other components of the pill (coloring, filler, preservative, etc.) A photo of the rash and more information about time course & itchiness would help figure this out. ...Read more
Sudden big lump on knee (size of pingpong ball) with redness at top of lump and slight swelling of foot on same leg.
What could be the cause of itchy fingers & tops of feet & toes? Also had a slight rash appear on outside of Palm of hand now disappeared. Thanks.
Itch: The cause of itchiness of fingers, feet and toes can be difficult to identify. I would suspect reaction to foods, medications, changes in temperature, etc. See if you detect any pattern. Taking antihistamine medications like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin(nondrowsy) may relieve the symptoms. An allergist may help you with this problem if it persists. ...Read more

Only x-ray can tell: If this just occurred, then it's reasonable to give this a couple of days of observation, rest, icing and possibly anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen. Only an x-ray can answer the question of whether a fracture is present or not. A contusion/bruise can certainly look like this. ...Read more
