Interesting: By acid taste, I have to assume you are having some material come up from the back of your throat like a bad burp? This is called gerd or reflux. Some call it water brash. Lots of reasons: Could be from acid reflux, hiatal hernia, not cleaning between teeth (Flossing) daily, improper brushing, gum disease, cavities, bacteria built up on teeth because of missed Dental appointments, food allergy, food selection, timing of your last meal or drink, brand of toothpaste. Yes it can: If gerd or gastroesophageal reflux is so bad that it gets all the way up the esophagus, past both a failing valve at the bottom of the esophagus and the valve at the top of the esophagus, it can cause a "water brash" taste in the mouth, dental erosion, sinusitis, voice changes, and even lung infections like pneumonia.
