Many possibilities: Any number of viruses do this. If prolonged more than a couple of weeks, maybe mononucleosis, although you're quite old for mono (most cases before age 20). Mostly not serious, but syphilis, HIV, tuberculosis, land other serious infections are possible if at risk. If only a few days, sit tight; probably will clear up soon. In the short term u may be 'wiped out' from fighting this infection, so sometimes your period won't come (hence you're not fertile for that month). No: TB neck lymphadenitis won't cause infertility but if your tubes are also involved it can cause problems. You should be able to conceive and have healthy babies after finishing treatment. If you have any problems, you doctor should know about the TB. It is a simple test at that point to check for tubal damage. I had TB myself at 16 and have had no problems since.
