Please can u help me, what can I fo about fracture blisters, I have 2 broken toes, a week today. I am waiting on a fracture clinic appointment, ?
Don't pop: Normally the recommendation is to leave this alone and not pop them. Should not wait much longer to have them checked. There is a risk for them to get infection.
A fracture is a broken bone. As there is cartilage at the end of many bones at the joint, a fracture may also include a break in the cartilage. Fractures and broken bones are the same thing. It seems that many believe that a "fracture" is a lesser injury or an incomplete break in the bone, but this is not correct. Fractures may be displaced or ...Read more
I just had surgery on my foot. 2 days later I developed fracture blisters and a strep infection. Are these related to the surgery?
Displaced fracture of 5th phalanx of foot 4 weeks ago The toe is black, dull pain feels heavy, detached & numb. Skin feels blister like with fluid.
You should see a dr: When you say black. What color are you? Is it black like black and blue? Is there a capillary return in the toe? In any event at four weeks this should be more than 50 percent healed. Was the digit relocated at all. Usually, when relocated it snaps back into place immediately and then should be protected from re dislocating..., see a foot doc
I had surgery 5 weeks ago on my left foot to fix a fracture on my 5th metatarsal, surgeon put a string on my small toe. Now it’s swollen with blister?
Go back to the surge: Return to the surgeon. Tell him the issue and let him examine the foot
Do metal plate and screws in ankle cause the bone to get crushed (or cause bigger injuries) if the same ankle gets re-fractured in the future?
Not really: Most often if an injury occurs to an area that has been fixed it usually isn't an issue unless the previous hardware was damaged. Get x-ray to find out.See 1 more doctor answer
Injury: The energy that fractured the bone also injures the tissue around the bone. The first process of repair in the body is inflammation and fractures also bleed form the bone. Both of these processes result in swelling at the site of injury. Swelling should diminish with time.See 2 more doctor answers
Physical abuse: A spiral fracture is a fracture wherein the bone is twisted apart like a cork screw. It is usually associated with physical or sexual abuse the femur is one of the strongest bones in the body. Considerable force needs to be taken to break your femur bone. The most common cause of femur fracture is car accidents or falls from heights.
Cheek fracture: Fracture of facial bones can cause permanent deformity with depressions in the area or asymmetry between two sides of the face. It might not be apparent early on but with time becomes more obvious. However, not all cheek fractures need to be fixed. You need to discuss with the surgeon to find out if you need surgery. Also facial fractures can cause permanent numbness at times.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends: If nondisplaced fracture like anywhere else in body will heal without deformity. If depression or displacement can result in deformity. The xray or CT demonstrating the fracture finding should describe the above findings. If displacement or depression then should probably consult plastic or maxillofacial surgeon.
Yes: It can be common. However, if this is new and there is a cast on the arm it maybe on to tight and cutting circulation. I would then recommend seeing a doctor
Yes, mostly w/breath: Depending on where the fractured ribs are, will determine which areas affected. Also whether it's in the front, or back, or side. There's a lot of variables. However oftentimes fractured ribs feel little bit worse when you're inhaling and stretching the ribs apart. So, make sure that your physician is aware of your complaints, so they can help you manage the pain. The main organs that broken ribs affect is puncturing the lungs.See 1 more doctor answer
Highly unlikely: The fracture would not be the cause of your problem. If there was any other damage to internal organs it may have been caused your accident and therefore related to your current condition. It usually takes a pretty significant force for a young person to have a lumbar spine fracture. You should see an ob/gyn doctor who specializes in reproductive health.See 1 more doctor answer
What will cause premature ejaculation in a 31 year old male thyroid removed fractured L4 L3 L5 spin?
If a baby chokes and goes rigid from when he was born, right up to 2 months later on a regular basis cause his ribs to fracture.?
Broken ribs: The episodes of choking sound like gastroesophageal reflux. With the shaking episodes, this could be sandifer syndrome which is gerd accompanied by movements similar to a seizure episode. These movements would be unlikely to cause healthy bones to break. Any young child with broken bones needs full xra imaging to rule out abuse.See 1 more doctor answer
I have had a spinal fusion for the past 10 years. Can bending down too much or twisting cause the rod to break/fracture the spine?
Unlikely after 10yrs: The rods are there to stabilize the fused spine until the bony fusion takes. As soon as the fusion takes, there is very little stress on the rods with bending motion. Stress is transferred and concentrated in the level above and/or below the fused segments. If your fusion didn't take, then there will be repeated torque/mechanical loading cycles on the implants, which can lead to fatigue fracture.See 2 more doctor answers
Fractured lisfranc joint and had it fused. During surgery they said a bone was really soft and had to put a plate on it, what could cause this?
Is it normal for a unilateral pars fracture to become bilateral over a few months?? What could cause this? Is spondylolysis a serious back problem?
No...: More likely you had bilateral fractures. How was the diagnosis made? It is possible that the other fracture was missed initially. Did you have a second injury? How did you injure your back? History of what happened can be helpful. Non displaced pars fractures are sometimes missed on the xrays.
Is an X-ray the only way to know if bone contusions caused stress fractures? Or are there symptoms that you can go by? Can't get dr. To check for it.
Best way: X-rays are usually the best way to decide whether you have a fracture or not, but they are not the only way. Usually a stress fracture does not come from a specific injury, but is the the result of repeated minor stresses or injuries. A fracture is usually tender in a very localized area. Ask the doctor why he doesn't want to do an x-ray. If it does not make sense, ask him again to do x-rays.See 1 more doctor answer

Is it broken or fractured is a question I am often asked. The answer is basically that a broken or fractured bone is the same thing. A fracture means a break in the cortex or the strong layer of outer bone cells. In an adult the average time for that to heal varies greatly but is often considered to ...Read more
