The shot... maybe: If, in the process of injecting your hip, the tip of the needle touched the sciatic nerve, that would explain referred pain in your heel and foot. If this is the case, it should resolve over time. I would certainly report this new finding to the doctor who gave you the shot.

You could have something called plantar fasciitis (also frequently caused by wearing bad shoes). Less likely would be a viral infection or extremely high blood sugar. At times the area can be larger than expected and in some cases can take a week to go away. Check the sting site for a stinger, wash the wound with soap and water and apply an ice pack.
