A couple finger joints pop as if out of joint, stiff and feel "full" if that makes sense, all fingers hurt on both hands. What could be the issue?

A hand surgeon can evaluate each of these structures to determine if there is a functional injury. Nerve lacerations are often best repaired soon after an injury--usually within 1-2 weeks. They can be repaired later, but then are more likely to require something to bridge the gap, such as a synthetic nerve tube. Tendon lacerations are also best repaired quickly.

Agree: Sounds like tendon swelling above the joint.Differential diagnosis trauma, dactylitis swelling of tendon which can occur with sarcoid or psoriasis.Infection or even a foreign object like a plant thorn can also cause pain. I wonder if you had bleeding from a small blood vessel. If a small blood vessel tore, it would cause bleeding and discoloration. It sounds like there was no injury that you recall, which makes it very unusual to have the swelling or the tear in the blood vessel.

See your doctor: It may be raynauds disease or Burgers if you smoke. Your doctor can diagnose this and discuss with you if treatment is necessary. Hopefully this will go away. The nerves in your hand are being pinched under a small band of ligament type tissue. Its from the typing and maintaining the hand posture required to do so. Start wearing a simple wrist brace see an orthopedic surgeon for a workup if you need to type for job then a simple surgery would resolve this issue

In both cases the swelling increase when you lie down at night. This is called "trigger finger".
