Several: Claritin, (loratadine) Allegra and zyrtec are safe and tend to cause less drowsiness than other antihistamines. Excessive drowsiness with diazepam can occur with chlorpheniramine or brompheniramine which are in many over the counter allergy medications. There is a theoretic concern of thickening sputum and causing more airflow obstruction. ...Read more
Most new ones: Antihistamines such as Claritin (loratadine), Allegra (fexofenadiine) and even zyrtec (cetirizine) are safe to take with other medications in persons with copd. It's best to avoid antihistamines that cause drowsiness (like benadryl) as this side effect may be worsened with diazepam. Take a deep breath: Some good news and some that can be difficult. The good news: You've found things that work, there's nothing seriously wrong or likely to worsen. Why after I withdrew cold turkey from risperidone and diazepam for almost 3 days and caused me to panic about death?
To be expected: Rapid withdrawal from sedatives and anxiolytics (eg diazepam) leads to rebound anxiety. This part is obvious. Stopping antipsychotics (eg risperidone) is different. Depending on why you are taking Risperidone in the first place, your problems very likely will come back. Timing of getting psychotic can vary from days to months. Best to put your doctor to good use or things can get much worse. ...Read more
Why does 10mg diazepam not cause relaxation or drowsiness? I'm 18 and weigh 85kg. I can take 10mg and feel like normal. Why is this?
Med reaction: People have very different reactions to these meds and different doses. If your prescribing doc gave that dose they may feel that it is a good amount to take the edge off the anxiety. Would you have felt much worse anx. without it? Many people responsibly use these meds as needed to stop panic attacks. But the long term resolution(yes it is possible!) is effective anxiety therapy. I'm trying to get pregnant but i've been given 5mg diazepam to take, will it reduce any chance of conceiving or cause any problems?
I was on 5mg of diazepam i've been off completly for 5 days today and been anxious and insomniac . Could this dose withdrawal cause death or seizure?
Mild withdrawal: You can certainly have mild withdrawal symptoms from valium 5mg, if you had been taking it regularly. It's long-acting -- meaning it will take longer to completely eliminate from your body than other, shorter-acting benzos would take. Withdrawal symptoms start later & may last longer too. Seizures & death are not likely from this dose, though. Be safe -- tell your doctor about this. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and Diazepam: Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) can cause anger issues by triggering mania or hypomania. Diazepam can cause anger issues by its disinhibiting properties in the frontal lobes. Buspar does not have this effect and neither does seroquel. Seroquel if anything has an anti-anger effect. Buspirone lessens anger by knocking out anxious irritability. Best wishes and have a happy new year. ...Read more

Medication rxtn: Both medications possess substantial effects on brain chemicals due to their anti-cholinergic qualities, and the combination could well affect your memory transiently. Can Diazepam cause smelly goose like stool sometimes or am I possibly just becoming lactose intolerant? I have no gallbladder as well
Those symptoms: Are not related to the diazepam you're taking. Loose, foul smelling stools sound more like steatorrhea from your gall bladder surgery. Lactose intolerance should be reliable every time you take in lactose with diarrhea, bloating, and gas from 30-90 minutes following lactose intake. ...Read more
Would taking 10mg diazepam, 30mg remeron 10mg tyrptizol and 300mg lyrica (pregabalin) at night cause a hangover the following day. Thanks?
Am concerned: Is this being prescribed by one doctor? It may be dangerous polypharmacy. All of these drugs are sedating, and have many potential harmful interactions. They certainly could make someone feel hung-over, groggy and sedated in the morning. The dose of amitryptaline is pretty low, but the other drugs are in full dose and could be too much for you. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist. ...Read more
