You might: It is not uncommon to have allergic reactions (ar's) to both Nefazodone and trazodone. It is easy to confuse ar's with medication side effects (se's). Common ar's are skin rashes, breathing problems, and chills/fever. Common se's for these medications include blurred vision, dry mouth, sedation, and GI problems. Check with your md to determine if your reactions were true ar's or se's! ...Read more
I was prescibed trazodone for insomnia but had allergy next he prescibed Ambien but makes me feel weird, is it bad to suggest Xanax (alprazolam) or other med?
Cause for insomnia?: Referral (possibly to psychiatrist) for thorough evaluation of your insomnia might be the smartest request you could make. It's better than asking for more medicines when it's not clear "why" you're having this problem. If you're still taking vyvanse (as on your other info), this may be related. Ambien (zolpidem) can indeed result in feeling "weird" -- also doing odd things at night after taking it. ...Read more

I take Sertraline HCL 50 MG and Trazodone 150 MG Is it ok to take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) allergy liqui-Gels 25 MG with the other meds?
For what?: All meds have potential adverse effects and the more meds you are on increases this risk. Both sertraline and trazodone are antidepressants, but you are likely taking trazodone for sleep and these 2 are not an uncommon combo. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is also sedating. If you need Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for allergies talk to your doc about tapering down trazodone. Also consider seeing an allergist ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Today I was prescribed desyrel (trazodone) for my supposed insomnia to help me get better sleep. Is it okay if I take this at night in conjunction with zoloft?
I take: Buspar (buspirone) 10mg (3xday) for anxiety, desyrel 100mg (nightly) for sleep, and .5mg Xanax (3xday as needed) for anxiety. Desyrel isn't helping my sleep, what medicine is best to help me get sleep?
Treat anxiety first.: The use of Buspar (buspirone) and xanax are only useful for short term or for occasional treatment of anxiety. They lose effectiveness after a period of monthe. The ssri meds (like lexapro, zoloft) are more effective for the long run and then maybe good sleep will be more possible. Also the dose of Desyrel can be up to 200 mg for some people. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Prescribing: Some people feel that a separate medication should be given to "combat" each symptom -- rather than investigating causes or seeing systemic inter-relationships. Is this maybe you? Excessive sweating can indicate issues with your medications (possible serotonin overload, for instance). Please work with your physician to review & deal with this, rather than automatically seeking another drug. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
