Cataracts: There are many causes of cataracts besides uv exposure from a tanning bed-- sunlight, smoking, aging, certain medications, and heredity are all factors. It seems whenever I have eyes dilated, i can see such detail (freckles on son's face). Could this be cataracts?

Possibly: Some cataracts are centrally located and when the pupil is dilated, the clearer outer margin will create and image that is better. Corneal conditions can also do this.
