To a degree: All medications are not without risk but this one is often used to lower blood pressures that can be difficult to maintain at appropriate levels or those that need to be lowered from dangerous highs. It can cause rebound hypertension, however, meaning that if you are not taking it consistently it can cause your pressure to go even higher. Numerous: Clonidine stimulates ?2 receptors, which causes the heart to beat less forcefully and blood vessels to dilate (increase in diameter), which lowers blood pressure, hence its classification as an anti-hypertensive (though it has many other clinical uses). Side effects include hypotension (too low blood pressure), dry mouth, fatigue, weakness, nausea, constipation and many more. ...Read more

See doc. : Those bp's are quite high and a concern. Catapress is a BP med that can cause rebound elevations in BP if a dose is missed-it sounds like you need a reevaluation of your BP program. Garlic has no proven roe in p management. ...Read more
