Are castor oil packs effective on constipation?

Are castor oil packs effective on constipation?

Not really familiar: Taking castor oil used to be recommended for constipation, but it is not healthy to take it orally in large doses. Castor oil packs might be okay, but there are side effects to castor oil, and it is definitely absorbed from the packs. Is topically using coconut oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil & aloe vera gel (as homemade lash/brow serum) safe to use during pregnancy?

Pregnancy-safe oils: Castor oil and sweet almond oil may bring on early labor, if used earlier than term. Coconut oil and olive oil are safe in pregnancy. Topical vitamin E oil is felt to be safe, but may cause contact dermatitis in some people, as can topical aloe vera. "When in doubt, leave it out" applies in pregnancy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20306538 ...Read more

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and have been using desert essence tea tree oil toothpaste. Is tree oil toothpaste harmful in pregnancy?

Not a fan...: I am not aware of any adverse effects on pregnancy from tree oil products. They are derived from the indian "neem" tree which was thought to have ayurvedic antiseptic properties... Whats better for eyelash growth, coconut oil or castor oil?

Whats better for eyelash growth, coconut oil or castor oil?

Neither: Certain oils or petroleum ointment applied to base of lashes will smother the microscopic mites called demodex which live in the hair follicles.
