I have sores on the cartilage in my nose. Sometimes theres no pain but there's always hard tissue (bumps) that i can't remove, which are white. Ideas?
Vestibulitis: Can be associated with a dry nose, picking at the area, or using q-tips inside the nose. You can get a low grade bacterial colonization of the hairs inside the nasal skin(vestibule). This creates a chronic irritation, crustiness, and sometimes clear discharge with occasional blood in it. See an ENT for treatment, usually ointments and antibiotics. However, other problems need to be ruled out. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a painless lump on the outside side wall of my nose. No breathing obstructed or any issues the bump is just there , and I am curious what it is?
Skin lesion: Tough to guess what your lump is, as there are no specific lesions that are more commonly occurring on the nasal area, and any guesses would be purely that-a guess. Best for you to get a dr. To look at it. ...Read more

My 2 yr old bangs his head on walls and the floor he does it to where his nose bleeds and he has bruises and big bumps on his head what do I do?
Positive ignoring: Head banging is just an amplification of early infant fussing. It peaks in preverbal years .I've never heard or seen a head banger with a real head injury. This likely caught on when he noticed it grabbed your attention. If you ignore it(don't lock eyes), watching him out of peripheral vision, for safety, it should fade over time.Teaching some sign language may help with the frustration. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Would an inverted papilloma in the nostril be easily distinguished from cartilage that may protrude?Dr. Thinks tiny thing on inner wall is cartilage.
Saw Ent today about tiny thing in nostril-inner part of wall of nostril. He thinks it's my cartilage on that side.If it were a papilloma, could he tell?
I would think so: Since he was an ENT dr. who spent the majority of his post doctoral medical training learning all about the nose, he would be the expert who could tell you what the area of concern was in your nose and would be able to tell you if it was a papilloma. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Likely nothing: If the bump appeared at the time of your injury it is likely a simple hematoma, mild bleeding under the skin. The majority of the time this resolves relatively quickly. Sometimes, however, the blood organizes almost like a scar and takes longer to be reabsorbed by the body. It is not anything to worry about medically just more of a cosmetic issue. It may take months for complete resolution. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Head bump: It's hard for me to imagine that your pain now is related to an inconsequential bump of your head that long ago. I recommend you see your primary care doctor to help figure out what the issue is now. ...Read more
