There was about 79% of the teenagers that outgrew their childhood allergies but the other 21% did not. So right now you may just have to wait. Depends: True allergies and anaphylaxis are ige mediated reactions which means they cause hives, swelling, vomiting, serious breathing problems shortly after eating them. They can be tested by an allergist through skin & lab testing. Intolerances cause more GI symptoms of bloating, diarrhea, gas. Check this by eliminating the food for 2-3weeks & then reintroduce it. Yes: A sensitivity and/or allergy can indeed develop at any time. It is not unusual for a person to take an antibiotic several times and not have a reaction, and then all of a sudden they do.
