Prescribed zanaflex (tizanidine) for spasm. Haven't slept well all week. Doc said would knock me out. Wide awake. I have pbc of liver. I thought soma pref?
Soma (carisoprodol) not preferred: Soma is not a good medication, there are terrible problems with addiction to that drug. Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) is another alternative for spasm. Yes and No: Carisoporodol should only be used for a short term and not chronically for pain. It is very similar to benzodiazipines such as valium and ativan (lorazepam).
