I just had a stressecho done. Test stopped at 3 min mark. (slow walk) hr 180, BP 188/146. Was told resume norm until dr call. Should i still work out?

How long are heart cath results good for? I had one 2 years ago. Can plaque build up quickly in 2 yrs?
Yes: They can change in two years. The sad reality is that they can change overnight. Plaques rupture and that's a sudden event. We wish heart catheterizations could be crystal balls but, the reality is, we still have no way to predict the future. Your diabetes is a serious risk factor which, with rare exception, you can't change. ...Read more

I was diagnosed with POTS 2 yrs ago ECHO done last year doc said it was "low side of normal"today heart sounded fine but he wants to repeat echo, worry?
Pain under left shoulder blade and lost 5 lbs in 2 wks. CT scan 3yrs ago, endoscopy 2 1/2 yrs ago all fine. Re-test to rule out anything or wait?
CT 3 years ago: was for the same complaint? If so then you need to repeat to make sure there is no potential malignancy IF your pain has been going on for several months and would not go away. Weight loss is a lot in 2 weeks unless you have been trying to lose. Most importantly go see a healthcare provider to get proper examination and treatment. My bilirubin was 1.2 nine years ago and was 1.4 last week any concerns? I work out regularly and everything else was normal
Stop worrying: I'm going to assume you do not have one of the hemolytic disorders such as spherocytosis or thalassemia minor. I'm also going to assume this is mostly indirect bilirubin. You probably have Gilbert's, and if you miss a meal or two, which is fine, you may find it going into the 2's. Don't worry about it -- it's a common non-illness affecting several percent of folks. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
42 yr old w/ pneumonia 8 times in 2 years. I had 2 yrs free. I went on a super immunity diet and allergy shots. Just had it again! I work with kids?
Immune workup: With 8 episodes in 2 years, there is something seriously wrong. Some people exposed to water damage or other organic agents (pigeon droppings etc) may develop hypersensitivity pneumonitis and avoidance is the only thing which works. Others from impaired immune system which should be considered since gammaglobulin replacement is often effective. See a B/C allergist if you haven't already. ...Read more
Innocent murmurs: Innocent murmurs are just that, innocent. The fact that they've looked at the heart by echo and found nothing means…there is nothing to be concerned about. Murmurs are just turbulence…think of a quiet stream versus fast moving rapids - there is just more noise. The murmur may come and go over time…that's just their nature. Nothing to be at all concerned about. ...Read more
I smoked meth for 2 weeks straight then 2 days later my doctor drew routine labs, CBC,CMP,SED RATE are some I remember. Will meth show up?
I've had an accelerated heartrate for 12 hours now. Up to 120 laying down. Had EKG xray and blood work done. All normal. Healthy female 18?
Hear t rate: If you are 18 and have a healthy heart, look to see what you may be doing that could accelerate your hear rate. Evaluate you caffeine intake - energy drinks, coffee, starbucks. 41 yr old. 2 weeks ago i was put on BP med, lisinpril, 10mg. It helps but still high bp. I took 1&1/2 last 2 nites & it got me n norm. K 2 up dose?
Inform of med adjust: Your starting Lisinopril dose was not high, and blood pressure medications often need further adjustments. It is good that your blood pressure is controlled, but medications can have effects beyond what you can easily observe. You need to inform your health care provider so they can decide if lab testing is needed. ...Read more
I am 59 yrs old been exercising reg 3-4 times a week aerobic/weights hr 136-148 during work zone, dvd's rotate my hr still rise/fall quick, normal?
Im 25 years old i'm 59and weiagh. 145 I have heart palptions every day i've had a 24 hr moniter done and they said its was fine y do I keep getthem?
Fine?: "fine" is not a diagnosis. Everyone has some extra beats. Presumably, your holter showed no serious arrhythmia. You should get plenty of rest, remove stressful issues from your life, simplify, vacation, avoid caffeine, nicotine, and consider getting medication if you need it. There are many meds that help. ...Read more
Palpitations after lifting light medium suitcase while walking an talking about 30 steps to car had Echo 2 mths ago Cardiologist"excellent"..Ideas?
It is not unusual: for exercise to induce extra heart beats and therefore palpitations but given your heart history and operative intervention one would worry about episodes of atrial fibrillation that are undiagnosed. This could put you at risk for stroke in the absence of appropriate anticoagulation. You should discuss this with your health care provider and perhaps obtain a screening monitor for safety's sake. ...Read more

FNH of liver? Need m: You may not have enough space to relay your questions about FNH. I presume it is FNH of the liver, which is generally a benign condition with normal blood tests and a harmless prognosis. However, FNH has to be distinguished from hepatic adenoma (hepatoma) which may be what the repeat testing is for; however, a contrast-enhanced MRI is the best test (not CT). I've had lightheadedness and a buzzing feeling in body for about two years but doctors tell me I'm fine need help scares me ?
Lightheaded: Without knowing what kind of evaluations you have gone through, I would recommend seeing your primary care doctor to make sure all of the necessary tests have been accomplished. Most young adults with these symptoms do not have a serious disease, and if it was something serious it likely would have become more evident now after 2 years. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

How can I boost my immune system? I keep on getting sick because i work around sick patients every day, for the past two years. Taking too much abx.
Hard to boost immune: System..If you work around sick people (as anyone in health care field does ) the best protection is to wash your hands frequently (but moisturize afterwards)&don't touch your eyes or nose. I know of no specific way to boost an otherwise healthy immune system.Other than eating healthfully , exercising , &getting 7-8 hrs. Sleep..Which can be hard to do in our busy world-but are so important .. ...Read more

I have what I believe to be "back mice" and I'm 27 years old and experiencing bad back pain (haven't been to work for two weeks) could these be cause?
Back mice?: Some people get nodules under the skin that feel firm, roll around under the finger, and sometimes hurt. Is that what you are calling 'back mice'. Back mice are not a cause of back pain. Get checked out by a doc to make sure it's nothing serious, and if not, get active again. The worst response to pain is lie around and get disabled. If its a problem, treat it. If not, get active. ...Read more
Can I do heavy cardio work outs as I have been operated appendicitis ten years back does it effect any wats now with heavy workouts?
My bilirubin is sometimes slightly elevated. It's usually just indirect but there have been a few times when direct was 0.3 instead of under 0.2. U/s normal, blood work normal.goes to normal after eating. Gilbert's? Been 3 years since last test. Feel fine
Direct bilirubin: Gilbert's syndrome is a the most common hereditary cause of increased bilirubin. It is a genetic condition found in up to 5% of the population. Gilbert's syndrome rarely causes symptoms. However, in Gilbert's, it is the direct (unconjugated) bilirubin which is elevated. ...Read more
I have lipase levels that fluctuate from the high end of normal to 20 points over the ref range for the past two years. Normal U/S and CT scan. All other blood work normal, including amalayse. Should I have an EUS or MRCP done? Causing anxiety.
No need to worry: Since your lipase levels are only minimally raised, have been so for two years at least, are associated with a normal serum amylase (and U/S and CAT scan), and are occurring in a patient who is asymptomatic--all argue for nothing serious. It probably represents low grade pancreatitis. Do you drink? Diabetic? Are you on birth control pills? Do you have gluten-related problems? No need for EUS/MRCP ...Read more

Relax: This varies some in health. 10.3 is often the upper limit of normal, so get checked yearly. If you're a little dry / thirsty, it'll go up some; if you've been sick and your albumin is a bit down, it'll go down. And it varies some just with what you may have eaten recently.
