Some basics: Your organs/muscles usually burn glucose (carb) for their primary source of energy. To many variables!: It depends if you exercise a bit. You can be more liberal with carbs. Obviously if calories don't come from carbs, they come from protein and fat. Most people on a low carb diet consume 100-120g per day of proteinm 40-60g of carbs (after induction). Aside from fats in meat and dairy, go with nuts, monosaturated oils (olive, peanut, canola). Vegetables are low caloric density, so eat plenty! ...Read more
Low carb diet: Counting net carbs is the correct way to monitor carbohydrate intake, which includes total carbs minus fiber and minus sugar alcohols (if present). But better yet, i just recommend eliminating sweets and starches - simple and very, very effective. One should be realistic, though, and look carefully at those two words. Many people tend to sneak high glycemic carbs into the diet by incorrect choices. ...Read more

If you "lost" your menses at BMI 18.8 and now have BMI 18.2, then you're losing weight, not gaining, assuming your height hasn't increased.
