Common : It sound like you are being treated for precancerous facial lesions (actinic keratosis or solar keratosis) which if left untreated can progress to squamous cell carcinoma. There are a variety of treatments for this, and you've been prescribed one of them. Usually the topical treatment lasts for 6 weeks (your Doctor will tell you how long).
