Canker sore: How long is "for so long"? And are you sure it's a canker sore? If it is, size and duration varies from individual to individual and from time to time. Medical factors, what you eat, amount of stress may all play a role in intensity and duration of discomfort. Consult with you own dentist for specific advice.

Will mesalamine (or other Crohn's treatment medications) help with the chronic canker sore symptom of crohns?
No: Mesalamine is known to cause aphthous stomatitis. In chohn's disease it is not unusual to see lesions in the mouth and along the entire digestive tract. Typically the treatment for these lesions are reactive and pallative consisting of topical treatments including 5% 5-aminosalicylic acid cream and other agents as well as laser therapy. Some preventative drugs are available for severe cases.See 2 more doctor answers

I have what seems to be a canker sore under my tongue and its hurting bad more each day, please tell me what can I do to ease the pain/promote healing?
See a dentist: Canker sores appear in the mouth area (tongue, gums, lip) and are small, shallow ulcers that make talking and eating uncomfortable they are gray in color and have a distinct edge. The sores will usually heal within 10 to 14 days, without treatment. There are special rinses that contain anesthetic solutions that can help with the pain. Avoid spicy and acidic food. Avoid trauma to the area soft diet.See 3 more doctor answers

Canker sore pain is beginning to subside a lot, so is the tenderness of my swollen lymph node. Does this mean it is healing?
Healing: Canker sores are small, shallow ulcers that appear in the mouth and often make eating and talking uncomfortable. The lesions have no particular origin but when secondarily infected can cause nodal involvement in the neck. They all heal spontaneously and if nodes are enlarged, they will begin to subside in the healing process.See 1 more doctor answer
Had canker sore and applied undiluted clove oil. Now, bigger more painful sore. Think it's burn from oil. Hard to talk/eat. Advice for treatment? Thx
Call your dentist: This sounds miserable and the clove oil aggravated it. Unfortunately there isn't much that can help resolve a canker sore quicker. Call your dentist to see if it needs to be looked at.
White spot like canker sore under tongue. Painful to talk, swallow, eat. Has been sore for 3 days now. What is it? Treatment?
Oral Discomfort: It appears as though you may be suffering from dehydration related to your "intestinal issues". This may stress your body enough that you develop canker sores or oral lesions that resemble them. However, "sores" under the tongue should be examined thoroughly by a dentist, oral surgeon or oral pathologist to eliminate the possibility of a potentially more serious condition.

Canker sore or fever blister on the inside of my mouth. Will it make the healing process more difficult?
Warm saltwater.: Warm saltwater rinses 3-5/day will help reduce inflammation and make the area more comfortable. Ibuprofen 400mg every 4 hrs will do the same. Ice directly on the sore for 10 minutes 4-5 times/day is difficult but really works. Eat only soft foods that are not spicy or hot to keep from irritating the area. All these will reduce the healing time but it still takes 7-10days.
