Canker Sore In Throat Treatment
Is it ok to put aspirin directly on canker sore in throat (carefully using Qtip)? Salt water rinse not helping. Doctor confirmed canker sore.
NO!: Aspirin made to be taken orally with copious water, not applied topically. Put directly on tissue will actually burn the area, retard healing, cause sloughing, and may leave a scar. ASPIRIN IS NOT TO BE USED TOPICALLY. Canker sore will heal on its own in 7-10 days. You can dab on, w Q-tip, Orabase-B (an OTC). Or you can block pain transmission by taking Aspirin or Advil (ibuprofen) as per pkg directions.See 1 more doctor answer
Unlikely: A true canker sore is a local auto-immune condition that results from different types of stress. It usually doesn't "spread" as you describe. If you have large patches in your mouth that are ulcerating, then that is indicative of a larger systemic auto-immune problem. Otherwise, you likely have a pharyngitis that is unrelated to the canker sore. Either way, you should see a physician.
Might throat sore: If you are prone to recurrent canker sores (recurrent aphthous stomatitis) they can also occur in the throat. Also recurrent aphthous can occur during times of stress such as getting a routine viral sore throat. Aphthous ulcers can be effectively treated with dental lasers. Http://www. Laserdentistbaltimore. I developed a 'canker sore' on the back of my throat near my uvula. HSV swab negative. Is this normal?
Throat sore 2.5 days, no other symptom. Poss. Exposure to strep. Just looked--looks like canker sore surrounded by redness, s. Palate. No worry?
May be viral: If there is a single sore and you have no other symptoms (no headache, no stomach ache, no fever), the sore throat may well be a virus. Treatment for that is supportive. If you develop any of the above symptoms in addition, however, and do not have symptoms such as stuffy nose or cough, see your doctor to make sure you do not have strep.See 1 more doctor answer

Not likely: Cancer sores are a common affliction for many patients. We do not know why it occurs, but some causes are lack of sleep, stress, and allergies. No: Canker sore or more specifically aphthous ulcer can be prevented by avoiding a common foam detergent found in most toothpastes called sodium laurel sulfate. Switching to biotene or other toothpaste not containing this ingredient can be the cure in preventing this painful condition. During an episode, 2000 mg of lysine in divided doses per day can decrease the symptoms and time involved to heal.
I have a large canker sore in back of throat the size of a quarter, could it be from epstein barr?
White spot like canker sore under tongue. Painful to talk, swallow, eat. Has been sore for 3 days now. What is it? Treatment?
Oral Discomfort: It appears as though you may be suffering from dehydration related to your "intestinal issues". This may stress your body enough that you develop canker sores or oral lesions that resemble them. However, "sores" under the tongue should be examined thoroughly by a dentist, oral surgeon or oral pathologist to eliminate the possibility of a potentially more serious condition.
I think I have a soft palate canker sore in the back of my throat, it hard to put an ointment on it cause its so far back. How do it treat this?
Mouth rinse: Unfortunately there are no good remedies for canker sores and causes are often unknown. The best treatments are usually just to treat pain, not to cure the sore. My personal favorite is what most call magic mouthwash. It is 1/3 Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (to reduce inflammation), 1/3 viscous Lidocaine (to reduce pain), and 1/3 maalox (to make it stick). You rinse and spit or swallow. Ask your dentist about it.See 2 more doctor answers

My husband keeps getting a huge canker sore in the back of his mouth, almost throat. It goes away and comes back. What could be causing it?
A virus: A good economical fix is to go to your local pharmacy an buy a product called zilactin. Dry the ulcer with cotton tip applicator the apply a small pea sized drop of the gel. Wait until the gel becomes opaque. Plain zilactin stings. Zilactin recognized this and added Benzocaine to their product. The mixture is called zilactin b. You might have a vitamin deficiency. Check with your primary care.See 2 more doctor answers
