Choked on pasta shells; coughed nothing came out .Sensation in lower part of throat by treachea area .Can pasta b stuck? Do i need to go to e.R?
Irritation: If the pasta was still stuck, you would have extreme difficulty breathing/talking. If that was the case, i would call 911. Since that does not seem to be the case, it is much more likely that your throat got irritated by the choking event, and the pasta passed down into your stomach. The sensation in your throat can last for a day or two, and is fairly common. Avoid hard, crunchy, spicy foods. ...Read more

That is normal: The Eustachian tube is a tube that links the nasopharynx (throat) to the middle ear. Under normal circumstances, the human Eustachian tube is closed, but it can open to let a small amount of air through to prevent damage by equalizing pressure between the middle ear and the atmosphere. When you build up pressure in the mouth, it can also force air into the middle ear, causing the crackling sound ...Read more

However, in rare instances a tooth develops in a less than ideal position because of a supernumery (extra) tooth or cyst (as two possibilities) that prevents the tooth from following an ideal eruption pattern. A dental exam and appropriate xray can rule out any abnormalities that might be causative of this disruption. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
